Nancy Drew Cake

Mallory and a good friend are working on their Girl Scout Silver Award.  Theirs is a literacy project and for their last workshop, they did a Costume Party where each girl dressed up as their favorite book character.  There were some great costumes and fun games.  Here is a picture of the cake I made for their event.

Maddie's 11th Birthday cake

I helped Mom make this UK Wildcat cake for Maddie's 11th birthday. Maddie and Kayla took the girls out to lunch and then to get their nails done! What a great and girlie way to celebrate. Love you and Happy Birthday Maddie!

The Brady Bowling Bunch cake

Mom and I made this cake for a good friend of the girls. The girls dressed up groovy, Brady Bunch style and had a great time bowling with friends!

Girl Scout Bridge Ceremony Cake

In September, the girls' Girl Scout troop had a bridging ceremony for those girls who were moving up to the next level/age group.  I represented all levels in our troop in this cake.

Blue water (blue frosting) represents the Daisy Girl Scouts
Square brown stepstones (brownies) represent Brownie Girl Scouts
Round brown stepstones (Junior Mint candies) represent Junior Girl Scouts
Brown ground (chocolate frosting) represents Cadette Girl Scouts and Senior Girl Scouts

Congratulations on another year, girls!

Kitchens' Twins 8th Birthday

Megan's 8th Birthday cake - can you tell she's a gymnast!?!

Gavin's 8th Birthday cake - Angry Birds!

I made use of some Hershey's chocolate licorice on both of these cakes.  Mom came up with a great idea for the bird's eye - the white part is actually the middle of an Oreo, which was great because it was already perfectly flat and round :)

My little baker...

Mallory made this HOMEMADE, from scratch chocolate bundt cake by herself for her Aunt Sonya's birthday.  She also made one of these earlier this year for Nana's birthday!  Maybe this cake will be her specialty.  It's so good and moist that it doesn't even need frosting - just a little dusting of powdered sugar!

Mallory's 12th Birthday

These are from Mallory's 12th Birthday on April 29, 2012.  She had a monkey-themed party, so we did a monkey cake and monkey cupcakes.  For her Birthday Breakfast, she chose a white cake garnished with strawberries.Posted by Picasa

Lindsey's 10th Birthday Cake

We celebrated TEN years of Lindsey in February 2012.  She loves to sing and wanted a microphone cake.  It's all buttercream frosting except for the end of the microphone, which is a ball of marshmallow fondant.  Turned out pretty nice!  Thanks for helping Mom (and Mallory).

Mom's Final Cake Class #3

The previous post was my final cake in class #3. This is Mom's final cake in class #3. I love how she used the loopy bow too and made ribbons and bows. This cake looks like a gift! Great job Mom!

Wilton Class Final Cake #3

Mom & I finished Wilton Class #3 in December and here's my final cake. It was completely wrapped in marshmallow fondant with a twisted fondant ribbon around the bottom and a fondant bow on top! I've always wanted to learn how to make those loopy bows. In this class, we also learned how to make many flowers out of gum paste and fondant.
